![]() (I went with the DS220+ and it was initially set to be a backup for wife's work and remote access for her to edit from office and/or when away at conferences BUT went with the 220+ over the 220j due to the additional resources it had for things like Plex should I want to get into that). I can agree that I found setting up my Synology NAS was a painless process. If I missed some important information, please let me know The movies are all pretty old, so I´m guessing they are in 720p ![]() I know for a fact that my parents have like 20.000 pictures and a lot of videos (mostly of their grandkids) that should definetly be backed up too, and our movie collection is around 200, but will probably grow in the future, so it should probably be able to hold something like 500. It needs to be able to (either via hdmi or our apple tv if that´s possible) to connect to my tv, and then at the same time, connect to my parents tv (they also have an apple tv, but I guess it could also be done via their laptop or phone, if that is possible) Turns out I have to download some software, could you guys recommend any? Or if there is a smarter way, please let me knowĪlso, I just can't really decide which nas to buy, there is way too many options, and building one seems to be more expensive, larger and more power hungry, so I have decided I´m going to buy a prebuild one. I do have a pc and an old cd reader so I can access the cd's on my pc, but I figured I could simply copy the data over to my pc and that would be it. I figured it was just going to take a bit of research and some money, but it has proven to be quite a problem and I would like some help This way, my parents can hopefully also watch our movie collection (they frequently borrow), but this means it needs to be connected to the internet. My girlfriend and I have, over the years, build up quite the collection of dvd movies (cd´s) and we simply don´t have space for them anymore and we also have a lot of pictures and videos that we need to get backed up, so I suggested that I would buy a NAS for us. ![]()
